People's Fair Art & Music Festival

The People’s Fair Art & Music Festival celebrates its 47th year June 1-3, 2018. Denver’s largest and longest-running block party is hosted annually at Civic Center Park. A Friday night kickoff concert featuring #1 Billboard Emerging Artist MAX is followed by two full days of vendors and events centered on celebrating the best of the Mile High City, ranging from music and culture—including performances from Moon Taxi, Trout Steak Revival, and dozens of local and national musicians—to fitness, food and beverage. The F&B lineup will include an assembly of some of Denver’s best food trucks, such as Mac ‘N Noodles, California Wrap Runner and Dude Bro Taco. The Grapes & Grains beer and wine garden will invite festival-goers to explore beer from Great Divide, as well as wine, with a punch card and commemorative glass available for purchase at the event. Alpine Chorale concert

The Alpine Chorale and special guests the Dan Geisler Trio will explore “Our American Choral Heritage” in concerts June 1st and 2nd. The program will begin with hymns by William Billings, who lived from 1746-1800 and is considered the first American choral composer and the father of American church choirs and singing schools. The program also will include folk songs, African-American spirituals, jazz, the light, frolicky “Flatfoot Floogee” and the powerful “Johnny I Hardly Knew Ye.” The concerts, both starting at 7:30 p.m., will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4500 Wadsworth Blvd., Wheat Ridge. They mark the conclusion of Alpine’s 20th anniversary season, and there will be a special tribute to Alpine’s director emeritus, Dr. Lee Egbert, and former director Dr. Pat Patton. Alpine’s traditional audience appreciation gathering will be held at the end of each concert. Tickets are adults $15, seniors $13, students $5. They will be available at the door and online at www.alpinechorale.org.
