Area nonprofit gets donation to fight human trafficking

Posted

Denver area-based Truckers Against Trafficking is one of 30 nonprofit groups that fight human trafficking to receive a donation from N2 Publishing, which has donated a combined $3 million to nonprofit organizations.

The national media company has committed to donating 2 percent of total revenue each year to combat human trafficking, according to a news release.

“Human trafficking is one of the greatest human rights violations of our time, and requires targeted systems change in order to combat it,” Kendis Paris, Truckers Against Trafficking executive director/co-founder, said in a news release. “We are tremendously excited that N2GIVES recognizes that Truckers Against Trafficking is seeking to do just that, and are eager to enter into a partnership with them.”

Modern-day slavery is a reality that an estimated 40 million people are facing across the globe, according to the release. N2GIVES supports organizations fighting trafficking overseas, but also nonprofits who crack down on forced labor and sex trafficking in unassuming American communities.

N2GIVES first partnered with anti-human trafficking nonprofits in 2017 through a donation of $2.2 million. In 2018, its annual giving totaled $2.5 million, not including the donation of a home now used as an emergency shelter for victims of trafficking, the first of its kind on the East Coast.
