A Thornton man was arrested early Nov. 13 after allegedly firing a handgun at police.
Darren Russ Hoffman, 22, of 99th Way in Thornton, was taken into custody after negotiating a surrender with Thornton Police.

Police responded to the 1800 block of Rowena Street at about 5:02 a.m. Nov. 13. Residents complained that an unidentified male was pounding on their doors and windows and screaming loudly.
Two officers arrived and found Hoffman. When they approached him, however, he allegdly brandished a handgun and fired multiple rounds at officers.
Officers did not return fire but were able to talk to Hoffman and convince him to surrender.
Hoffman was arrested for investigation of Criminal Attempt 1st Degree Murder.
