1.) Please describe your leadership style in three words.

Service, Collaborative, Inspirational

2.) Describe the skills and experience that make you the best candidate for the job.

As a school leader, I strive to bring people and ideas together for the common good every day. I have learned that listening is more important than sharing my ideas and that the best ideas come from the community members. In my daily profession, I utilize research-based best practices and take time to analyze data and results before making a significant decision. I value clear and consistent communication as a strategy that builds trust and creates strong relationships.

3.) Please list your top three priorities if elected.

I feel strongly about increasing the quality and timeliness of our community communication as it relates to significant decision making.I would like to increase the quantity and quality of our community programs, especially those that support single-parent families, children and families living in poverty and seniors on fixed incomes.I have a vested interest in finding an appropriate balance between development and affordability in the city of Northglenn.

4.) How do you see Northglenn best taking advantage of the economic boom in Metropolitan Denver?

Our small businesses in Northglenn are thriving with the economic boom in Colorado. Our city has welcomed new businesses to our community and this is creating an enriching neighborhood for all residents. The economic boom comes with an increase in population, resulting in crowded roadways and traffic concerns that must be addressed. We are also witnessing an increase in the number of homeless individuals in our neighborhood. Northglenn has the opportunity, through collaborative conversations with residents, to address the challenges an economic boom may bring all the while celebrating the influx of economic activity in our city. Our city can stay small and intimate if we remember to tap into the great tradition and city pride that can be found in Northglenn.

5.) What is the city’s role in encouraging the development of quality housing that is available for affordable costs?

As a single parent, I moved to Northglenn because it was safe and affordable and provided my family with community enrichment experiences. We do not want to forsake our traditions and values for real estate profit margins. The city needs to do it’s research before acting too quickly on a development plan. I believe it’s important to keep housing costs in a reasonable range and I feel that the city can be instrumental in providing the structures and boundaries for a responsible development plan.
