The vibrant acrylic and watercolor works created by students taking the P.E.A.C.E. (Persons with Parkinson’s Exploring Art and Creative Expression) class will be on display at the APEX Community Recreation Center, 6842 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada, beginning Aug. 6 through Sept. 20, 2017. Hours are Monday-Thursday: 8:15 a.m.-7 p.m. and Friday: 8:15 a.m-4 p.m.

The P.E.A.C.E. class is part of LifeConnect University, a lifelong learning program at Covenant Village of Colorado, a senior living community in Westminster. Created to tap into the creative and intellectual energies of persons with Parkinson’s and similar neuro-movement disorders, the class provides the resources and guidance to help students use creative expression as a form of relaxation and therapy. The exhibit will showcase more than a dozen works of art by eight students.
