`Say NO to Drugs' poster winners named

Elementary school students in Westminster participated in the Westminster Area Community Awareness Action Team “Healthy Me is Saying NO to Alcohol, Tobacco and Marijuana” poster contest.

The annual spring “Just Say NO to Drugs” project is a way to remind students that they must continue to say no to alcohol, tobacco, marijuana and any other drug as they enjoy their summer vacation away from school.

The following students' artwork was selected as winners for the 2018 contest:

K-2 Grades

Geeno Moore, Metz Elementary, 1st place

Isabella Guardiola, Metz Elementary, 2nd place

Jordyn Teachout, Westminster Academy of International Studies, 3rd place

3-4 Grades

Aramina Martinez, Metz Elementary, 1st place

Ruby Garcia, Metz Elementary, 2nd place

Mia Castillo, Fairview Elementary, 3rd place

Julian Pereda, Flynn Elementary, 4th place

5-6 Grades

Adriana Rodriguez, Metz Elementary, 1st place

Trinity Castaneda, Harris Park Elementary, 2nd place

Xavier Molina, Harris Park Elementary, 3rd place

Contest winners were awarded Water World and Adventure Golf & Raceway family admission packages donated by Hyland Hills Recreation District, and family admission packages for City of Westminster Recreation facilities donated by the City of Westminster Parks and Recreation. The winning posters can be seen on C.A.A.T.'s webpage www.drugfreecommunity.com.
