Veterans Day falls on Sunday in 2018, with government observation of the holiday on Monday, Nov. 12.

The state’s celebration of the holiday is scheduled for Nov. 10 in Denver’s Civic Center Park and hosted by the Colorado Veterans Project. That includes the annual parade, which steps off at 10 a.m. at Colfax Avenue and Bannock Street and winds its way through the downtown to Civic Center Park.

That’s also the site of a Veterans Day Festival with music, food and military displays.

The Colorado Veterans Project is also hosting fun runs at 8 a.m. Nov. 11 in Denver’s City Park. It includes a 5K and 10K routes and is open to runners, joggers, walkers, families and pets.

Northglenn’s Ceremony

The American Legion Post 22, based in Northglenn, hosts their annual Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11 at the Northglenn Veterans Memorial 11801 Community Center Dr.

The city of Northglenn’s Arts and Culture Department is hosting a spaghetti luncheon for seniors afterward. Space is limited so prior registration is a must. To register and to RSVP, call the senior center at 303 450-8801. Visit www.northglenn.org/playnorthglenn for more information.

The post will also be collecting donations for its Christmas project outside of the Golden Corral Buffet and Grill at 9751 Grant Street Nov. 10, 11 and 12.

All branches of the Anythink Library system will be closed on Monday, as well, in honor of the holiday.
