Conifer Lobos

First off I would like to send our condolences to the Poholsky family, head coach Matt Van Praag and the Evergreen football team. The passing of Tom Poholsky is a tremendous loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, program and mountain community at this time.

The Lobo’s defeated Littleton Friday night 47-0.

Gauge Womack, Zac Zalfa, Nic Hudson, Evan Clark and Nate Torrance found the end zone for the Lobos. Defensively the Lobos were able to create four turnovers, two coming by interceptions from Womack and Gage Sims. Grady Forsythe also contributed a sack and fumble recovery in the victory.

The Lobo’s face a very well coached and tough opponent in Lewis-Palmer next Friday at Fitzmaurice Field.

Evergreen Cougars

The Cougar faithful were saddened to learn of the death of Assistant Head Coach Tom Poholsky last week. He died suddenly on Wednesday.

Head Coach Matt Van Praag and the team commemorated the Oct. 8 game against the Lutheran Lions to his memory.

The conference game did not go Evergreen’s way, with Lutheran’s offense able to score seven touchdowns in the first half. The final score was 46-2.

The win leaves Lutheran the only undefeated team left in the 3A North/West League.

Evergreen is on the road this week, facing league opponent Green Mountain at 7 p.m. on Oct. 15.
