Firefighters control small grass fire in south Jeffco

Firefighters from the South Metro and West Metro fire departments needed about a half-hour to control a 10-acre grass  fire on the Lockheed Martin property in South Jeffco Oct. 10.

The fire began around 1:20 p.m. Smoke was  visible from as far east as Park Meadows Mall.

A tweet from South Metro Fire Rescue said the fire was west of the hogback. No injuries were reported, and the fire did not threaten any structures.
