PUEBLO -- Both of Horizon's wrestlers who qualified for this year's state 5A wrestling tournament placed.
The one-day event was at the Southwest Motors Events Center March 13.,
Grayston Diblasi placed second at 152 pounds. His only loss was to top-seeded Antonio Segura of Regis Jesuit by a score of 7-4.
His earlier efforts in the tournament were a 3-2 quarterfinal round win over Ponderosa's Randy Myers and a pinfall win over Brighton's DJ Rock in 1:36 of the semifinal round.
At 138 pounds, Travis Guzman wound up fifth. His wins were against Deklyn Miller in the quarterfinals (an 8-0 major decision) and a 1-0 win over Miller in the fifth-place match.
In between, Monarch's Vince Cornella, who won his fourth straight title, pinned Guzman in 1:30 of the semifinal round. Isaac Ibarra of Thornton picked up a 3-0 win in the consolation semifinal round.
