Legacy downed Vista Peak 25-20, 25-18, 25-20 in Broomfield Sept. 14. Alexandra Urbina had 13 kills for the Lightning. Kayla Dayhuff was next with eight. Joy Aburto had 10 kills for the Bison.


Legacy shut out Horizon 7-0 in Broomfield Sept. 14. David Tran (No. 1 singles) and Noah Cline (No. 3 singles) won their matches in straight sets. At No. 3 singles, LHS' Alex Anthony held off Blake Knabb of Horizon 6-1, 1-6, 6-2.

Rufus Thompson and Samuel Law (No. 1 doubles), Eric Rodriguez and Grant Thompson (No. 2 doubles), David Johnson and Samuel Heuhalfen (No. 3 doubles) and Karsen Barnes and Navon Kulprathipanja (No. 4 doubles) won their matches in straight sets.


The Lightning placed sixth at the Front Range League meet at Harmony Golf Club Sept. 14.

Deven Sehr led the way with a 4-over 76. Ben Cerratini carded a 79, while Tyler Hammond finished his round with an 84. Nick Patricolo had an 86.


Pomona downed Legacy 26-20 in Westminster Sept. 16. Braelon Tate ran for 183 yards and two touchdowns for the Lightning. Quarterback Jadon Carter passed for 86 yards and threw a touchdown pass to Kullen Lerma.


Legacy scored three runs in the fourth inning and added four more in the fifth to down Rocky Mountain 9-4 in Broomfield Sept. 14. Leah Connor drove home four and had two base hits. Elena Free had three hits. Alex Genty added two base hits and an RBI. Winning pitcher Janessa Esquibel struck out 12.


Legacy made it six wins in six starts by beating Broomfield 2-1 in Broomfield Sept. 18. Cooper Stephens and Gael Hernandez scored for the Lightning. Ryan Nun played in goal, recorded the win and registered 11 saves.
