Westminster Mayor Herb Atchison was among five new officers elected Feb. 17 to the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) board.

Atchison was elected as board secretary.

The other officers include Arvada Mayor Pro Tem Bob Fifer, treasurer; Boulder County Commissioner Elise Jones, chairwoman; Aurora City Councilman Bob Roth, vice chair; and Lone Tree Mayor Pro Tem Jackie Millet, who will serve as immediate past chair for the coming year.

“Our officers will lead the board of directors this year as it collaboratively addresses a number of important issues, which include the adoption of the Metro Vision plan for 2040 and its related transportation plan for the region,” said Jennifer Schaufele, DRCOG executive director.

The DRCOG is a planning organization in which local governments collaborate to establish guidelines, set policy and allocation funding in areas of transportation and personal mobility, growth and development, and aging and disability resources.
