Letter to the Editor: Miller, Billera best choices for North Metro Fire

Posted

May 3 is a very important date for the residents residing within the North Metro Fire and Rescue District, of which Northglenn is an integral part. It is Election Day and we will be choosing two Board of Directors’ members to guide the District in the coming years.

In these days of tight budgets and escalating costs, we need very experienced people to ensure that the day-to-day operations of our fire and EMS services perform to our expectations and are not compromised.

I strongly urge the residents of the District to give your support, and your votes, to Richard Miller and Peter Billera. Richard and Peter are incumbents and are two of three District residents running for this office. Both have given to this District for the past four years and are well deserving of another term.

As current Board members, both are well-versed in its day-to-day operations and experienced in the ways a Fire District should be run. They command and receive the respect of both Department staff and “rank and file” members. In addition, their attendance record at prior Board meetings is impeccable.

Their input on Board and District matters is uncompromising and professional. They receive complete respect from the other Board members. Their input is sought on every Agenda item brought to this Board and they bring enthusiasm to their Board actions.

As incumbent Fire District Board members, and residents of both Broomfield and our Fire District, I strongly support both and urge my fellow residents to give them your support on May 3rd. Your vote is very important, and I ask that you give it to Richard Miller and Peter Billera.

Robert Nielsen, Broomfield
