North Metro Fire Rescue District his taking applications for it’s next Citizens Academy, beginning May 1. The course runs through June 12 and includes classroom instruction combined with hands-on educational opportunities for participants.

The Academy is free for participants and open to fire district residents at least 18 years of age who meet minimum program requirements. Classes are intended to show participants the ins and outs of the fire district, including how emergency calls are dispatched, what types of calls NMF responds to, and what role fire prevention plays in the community.

Space is limited and registration is required. Anyone interested must complete an online application at www.nmfr.org/citizensacademy.
