Sami Miller, of Northglenn, was selected to present original research, “Evolution of the Villanovans to the Etruscans Through a Transition in Societal Beauty,” at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research in April at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Miller, a graduate of Thornton High School, is majoring in psychology and archaeology at the University of Evansville.

Jordan McDonald, daughter of Dave and Sandy McDonald, of Thornton, has earned a Silver Presidential four-year, one-quarter tuition scholarship to attend Chadron State College. The Bennett High School senior plans to major in business.

Amy Delaney, a senior, from Thornton, was inducted into the honor society of Phi Kappa Phi at Colorado State University-Pueblo.

Desiree Amidon, of Thornton, was awarded a $900 Academic Opportunity Award in psychology and a $700 Fort Hays Bronze Academic Award from Fort Hays State University. Amidon, a 2013 Legacy High School graduate, is the daughter of Travis and Michelle Amidon, of Thornton. She plans to major in psychology.

Court Appointed Special Advocates of Adams and Broomfield counties recognized community members and professionals for their service on behalf of abused and neglected children at their annual CASA volunteer appreciation and awards dinner in Brighton.
