NMFR hosts flag-retirement ceremony

North Metro Fire Rescue District along with the Broomfield Veterans Memorial Museum will host the 8th annual Flag Retirement Ceremony at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 14. The ceremony will be held at Broomfield Community Park behind North Metro Fire Rescue District Headquarters, 101 Lamar St. in Broomfield. North Metro Fire Rescue District and Broomfield Veterans Memorial Museum will accept retired flag donations until 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 13. Veterans Services workshop set

Northglenn American Legion Post #22 will host a Veterans Services workshop from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at 11081 Irma Drive in Northglenn. The purpose is to assist or to facilitate area veterans, their spouses and children with applications or claims for benefits to the U.S. Veterans Administration, for matters including education or educational assistance for both veterans and their dependents; housing, including home loans; or medical services through local and V.A. Hospital facilities.

NMFR now offers forms in Spanish

North Metro Fire Rescue has translated several of its EMS forms into Spanish, including the privacy notice with HIPAA, “right of refusal” for medical transports, blood-draw forms and the Ambulance Membership Program applications. Walmart opens hiring center for new markets

Walmart is hiring approximately 80 associates to work at the new Walmart Neighborhood Market slated to open this summer in Thornton. To facilitate applications, the retailer has opened a temporary hiring center at 9101 Pearl St., Suite100, in Thornton. Interested applicants can apply online at www.careers.walmart.com. Associates are needed to work in all areas of the newstore, including supervisory positions.
