State 3A golf thread

Holy Family's Rudiger Heitz is in 14th place after a second-straight score of 80 at the state 3A golf tournament at Spring Valley Golf Club. Several golfers were still on the course.

Benedict Achziger finished his second round with a 76 and a two-day total of 159. He is in a tie for 29th place. Drake Krommenhoek fnished with his second straight 82 and sits in a tie for 43rd place. Dustin Fouts carded an even 100 in his second round and was tied for 81st.

ELIZABETH -- Holy Family's Rudiger Heitz was his team's medalist in the opening round of the state 3A golf tournament at Soring Valley Golf Club Oct. 4.

Heitz turned in a 7-over par score of 79 and finished the day in 33rd place. Heitz had three birdies, including the 552-yard ninth hole.

Dustin Fouts carded an 81. including a birdie on the par-5, 581-yard 16th hole. Fouts is in 43rd place. Drake Krommenhoek's 82 put him in 50th place. He birdied the par-5, 520-yard fifth hole. Benedict Achziger had two birdies en route to his 83. He's tied for 53rd,

Tee times for the Oct. 5 second round will be announced later.
