Perhaps it's a sign of changing times.

New guidelines surrounding coronavirus mean Westminster High School's class of 2021 will be able to graduate in person.

The ceremony is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at Memorial Stadium. It's a ticketed event; each senior can invite four guests.

A press statement said the Tri-County Health Department, like most other jurisdictions, believes outdoor events can be safely held without limiting the number of attendees.

The school is sending specific communications to students detailing ticket information, parking plans and timelines for the day.

As of late last week, masks were not going to be a requirement. But that is subject to change depending on conditions. The statement also said the school is making plans for a smaller ceremony with fewer guests.

Hidden Lake High School will hold its graduation ceremony at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at Ranum Middle School. The school is letting students know about ticket distribution and timelines for the day.

Both events will be available on live-stream, allowing families and friends who cannot attend graduation to watch the celebration live.
